Our adventure for today was a trip to Mueller State Park for a short hike and a picnic. The park is nearly 10,00 feet above sea level and we could really feel the difference in the atmosphere. Colorado Springs is 6,000 feet above and I haven’t noticed any difference, but those extra 4,000 make a huge difference.
The park has beautiful views of the Rockies in every directions, and great hiking trails that are appropriate for kids.
On the way back, we could see some of the burn scar. While we only saw the edges, just that little bit was astonishing.
