Since we’re ahead of the US, the game started at 8:30 Monday morning for us. That doesn’t quite make for your typical Superbowl experience, but that’s okay, we had a good time.
Chris made sure we were all decked out in our Saints gear. We all had something to wear for the game. Can you believe this is the first photo with all five of us in it?
For a little taste of home, I made beignets for breakfast. That and a cup of coffee can’t be beat.
The girls sat and watched quite a bit of the game with us, except Blythe who, as usual, spent most of the time doing this:
About 2 hours into the game, the girls got a bit bored, so I let them go into our room and watch cartoons – a big treat they seemed to enjoy. Look how chilled out they were.
Finally, it was time for lunch. To add to the fun, we ordered pizza and wings, and let them have a “picnic” in the living room.
To wrap up, you know how the game ended. Here’s Chris’ reaction. Smiling and tears. Yes, he cried a little.
I fussed at him about crying when the Saints win, but not when the baby was born. His response? “Well, I didn’t cry, but I did faint.” Fair enough, Chris.
