and the rough gets rougher

I didn’t mention it on Sunday when I posted because I just couldn’t wrap my head around it at the time.

My brother-in-law, Sam, was involved in some sort of fight on Saturday night and ended up with a jaw that was broken in two places. Now, a surgery and a titanium plate later, he’s at his parents house recuperating in New Orleans. His jaw will be wired shut for two weeks so his “supper” is either chicken or beef broth sipped through a straw.

Not to mention, it’s finals week at LSU, which he’s obviously not taking right now. I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t let him make it up, but with his 4.0 grade average, a lot is at stake.

The whole family is scared, angry and confused about exactly what happened. We all hate to see him hurt like that, and there isn’t a single one of us who isn’t feeling the stress.
