So Chris is gone.
He’s left for a seminar in Seattle until the end of the week. What a rough gig, huh?
It’s been a while since he’s been away more than one night, and typically when he has to leave, I go visit my parents, so we’re never here when he’s not. This week, though, we’re staying at home, and it’s going to be a strange experience.
Our days are based around Chris’ work schedule. I make breakfast for the girls once he leaves for work, and dinner is ready at the time he gets home. I know we’ll stick to the same schedule, but it sure will feel strange not having the typical markers of the day.
I think we’re just going to chill out and not do much. We had to wake the girls up at about 5:30 to bring Chris to the airport. It’s not terrible early for them, but they weren’t ready to get up, and so now they’re sleepy. I am too.
Man, oh man, how are we going to cope if (when) he’s deployed?
