don’t you wish you had a Ritz-Carlton pastry chef in your family?

We went to New Orleans yesterday to visit with Chris’ family. My sister-in-law, Sally, had her 13th birthday last Monday so we were there, in large part, to celebrate that.

My brother-in-law, Jose, made the cake. I’m not sure exactly what kind of cake it was; all I know is that it was pomegranate and strawberry deliciousness. Don’t you wish you had a Ritz-Carlton pastry chef in your family?

Sally (and Cate, of course) blowing out the candles.

Another sister-in-law, Rebecca, picked out the candles for the cake; they were the coolest candles I’ve ever seen. The flames burned the same color that the candle was. Green candles had a green flame, purple candles had a purple flame, etc. I didn’t know such a thing existed!

Here are the candles. You can kind of tell that the flames are different colors in this photo.

    Cool yummy looking cake!

When I scroll down on your page it tends to make the words disappear. Is that supposed to happen?
